This 300hr teacher training program with a focus on holistic wellness coaching, is meant to provide yoga teachers at the 500hr level with the skills and knowledge to work with students and clients around the subject of food and its effects on day to day life. The wellness coaching program explores various coaching strategies along with 3 months tailored program, that can be followed step by step.
You will learn about: - Food theories, such as macrobiotics, blood type diet, Ayurveda, to name a few. - Nutritional science, and the confusion of modern medicine. - Cooking principles for any situation.
Led with lectures from leading experts in nutrition and medicine, Holistic Health Coach and world renowned Yoga and Thai Massage teacher, Gabriel (GabeYoga) Azoulay.
Your teaching skills will improve, and you will gain the skills to teach: Hot 26 (Bikram), BikYasa (Hot Flow as seen in studios such as Radiant Hot Yoga in CA, Intentional Hot Yoga in Michigan, Glow Hot Yoga in CA, Indigo Hot Yoga in New Mexico, ghara Hot Yoga in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Studio Yin in Finland, and a few other brands around the USA), Yin along with Upper Body Yin Secrets, VinYasa and Primary Series for beginners.
You will learn the stories in the Ramayana, while enjoying the tales in the Mahabharata, attempt the kriyas in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and soak the poetic magic of the Upanishads.
You will see yoga anatomy as it relates to individual bodies, as well as the collective body of a large yoga experience.

This 300hr training program focuses on establishing the foundation for a stronger personal practice, expanding your yoga knowledge, from Patanjali’s Sutras, to the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, from the Upanishads, to the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. You will earn how to observe how different bodies experience yoga postures, how to adjust with greater confidence, and what is the difference between adjustments and touch support.
By the end of the training you will have learned:
- How the spine works and a secret BackBending practice taught in Mysore, India.
- What lies behind HandStands, and the importance of keeping things simple.
- What is the ‘Yin Principle’ and how to use the principle for upper body yin poses.
- How to confidently teach Hot 26, Hot Flow, Yin, Power Flow, Ashtanga Primary Series, and Hatha Yoga.
- How to touch and adjust, and how to efficiently look at students postures.
- How to market your classes, retreats, or studio.
- History, philosophy, Sanskrit and chanting.
Along with these skills you will also learn:
- How to coach clients through a 3 months wellness program.
- What makes an effective Wellness Coach.
- Multiple eating modalities from Ayurveda to Blood Type Diet.
- Cooking made easy principles.
- How to guide clients through the maze of wellness grocery store.
- Food categories, micro and macronutrients, detox and illness.
While it is a given that you will be practicing morning and evening Yin yoga everyday, it is important to note that you will also be exposed to a daily backbending and handstand practice. This ancient yet very secret backbending practice, combines with handstand principles taught in elite gymnastics program will transform your body and will take your personal practice to new levels. It will also give you the experience behind what is possible for the body, and what sacrifices one must make depending on their goals.
This daily practice will help you teach, practice and create a life changing opportunity. It will be practiced right before Yin Yoga, which will often end with harmonium chanting. Those wishing to learn basics of harmonium will be given the opportunity to learn.
You will be learning through a varied learning approach:
- Documentaries – we absorb an enormous amount of information through visual communication. In the past they creates long poems to be recited at the campfire at the end of the day. Today we have movies.
- Edited clips - famous teachers, alive or deceased.
- Reading – the classical approach, with a twist.
- Lectures – not your typical college lecture.
- Small groups – where you will sometimes teach, engage in discussion, or create a business plan.

This 300 intensive hour program is divided into 4 modules:
Module 1 (5 days) : The power of communication
- Discover WHY the dialogue in Bikram is a powerful tool for communication.
- Learn how successful wellness coaches communicate.
- Music is a form of communication! Master the skills of combining music and silence in your classes.
-In depth investigation of Patanjali’s Sutras Book 1, with a lens on how to communicate the ideas in classes, workshops, or online lectures.
- The Ramayana and its implications for modern time.
- What is a Wellness Coach, and why this work is so important.
- Coaching methodologies overview: from nutritional counseling to IIN breakthrough ideas.
- The difference between touch and adjustment.
- How to observe the human body and understand how the pose can support and in time transform the body.
- From Ayurveda to Macrobiotics. Learn the principles and practices in these eating modalities.
- Food, and how different it is perceived.
In this module each morning practice will be – Hot Flow - While many studios have a flow class in a hot room. BikYasa refers to those studios and brands that implement the popular practice that combines silence and music, Bikram and Ashtanga. Some but not all include: Indigo Hot Yoga in New Mexico, USA, ghara Hot Yoga in Sao Paulo Brazil, Radiant Hot Yoga in Newport Beach, CA, Glow Hot Yoga in Huntington Beach, CA, Hollywood Market Hot Yoga in Boise, Idaho, Some Like It Hot in Novato, CA, Studio Yin Yoga in Helsinki, Finland.
Module 2 (7 days): Transformation Through Practice
- The Primary Series of Ashtanga is a healing practice. By the end of the week you will know why.
- When you understand the primary series, along with Hot 26 and Hot Flow, you get an insight into the working relationship between the mind and the body. You will learn how the words, combined with focused practice, validated with new research, affects the brain, the nervous system and the body.
- Patanjali’s Sutras book 2 deal with practice. We will dive deeply into the concepts laid out, while studying the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Chakras system.
- Nutrition Foundation, labels, and are carbs good or bad for me?
- Sugar and it’s devastating powers.
- The 3 months coaching program frame work.
- Learn touch confidence through Thai Yoga.
- Mindfulness training and practice.
- The Mahabarata and it’s stories, and how the Vedas fit into the Poetic model.
In this module you will practice Ashtanga in the morning. The practice will be taught in a Mysore style approach, which means that each individual will be practicing the series based on the skill and memory.
Individual attention, modification and variations will be given accordingly.
Module 3 (7 days): Handle The Challenge
- Why is Yin Yoga so powerful?
- What is the ‘Yin Principle’ we learn and can apply in teaching and practice?
- Using the Yin principles to open the upper body, shoulders, thoracic spine, wrists and elbows.
- Nutrition and healing, what we learn from cancer research, modern biology, food science, and survival stories.
- The food pyramid and what you can do about it.
- The anatomy of food, from grains, to meat.
- The functional anatomy of the body. How to look at the body in action, and what is the blindness in the average teacher.
- Patanjali’s Sutras Book 3 begins to offer insights that question reality as we know it.
- The Vedas, Upanishads, and the consequences of Patanjali’s Sutras.
In this module you will have a choice of practice.
Those who wish a mysore experience, or those wishing a hot experience.
Module 4 (5 days): From Caterpillars to Butterflies
- What is your path?
- What is your vision?
- Where do you see yourself?
- How important it is to ask these questions, to seek out the answers.
- The nutritional consequences of not asking these questions.
- How do you handle challenging situations, from difficult students in the yoga room, to unresponsive clients.
- Establishing boundaries, creating contracts, and talking about money.
- How to sell yourself as a Wellness Coach.
- How to market yourself as a Yoga Professional and Wellness Coach.
- Marketing, email list growth, affiliation and incentives.
- Social networking for yoga and wellness.
- Patanjali’s Sutras Book 4, you will be shocked.
We continue with optional choice for practice.
Bonus module:
- Stand UP Paddle (SUP) Yoga training.
You will learn how to teach basic Stand Up Paddle techniques, safety and how to teach a yoga class on a stand up paddle board.
Certificates are issued through h3 Yoga School, a 500 Yoga Alliance approved school. The Holistic Wellness Certificate by no means establishes you as a medical doctor or examiner. It is a certificate as a coach, in accordance with your training as a 500 hour yoga teacher, educated in Wellness Coaching, a program designed by GabeYoga & Wellness and theLifeCo Phuket, based on years of working in the wellness industry.
